Mark your calendar and join me for a fun and challenging group workout session.

Spread the word among your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. I would love to be able to have enough people to warrant two sessions – one at 9:00 AM and one at 10:00 AM. Please help me make that happen.

Donation is $20 or $20 or more in sponsor donations. Sponsor sheets are available at Body & Soul Fitness Studio.

If you can’t work out with us, please consider being a sponsor.

The workout will last approximately 45 minutes, including warmup and cooldown.

All fitness levels are invited. Exercises will be adapted or substituted, as necessary. Anyone 12 and older is welcome to participate.

Knowing how many people will be attending helps me design the best workout so, if possible, please let me know ahead of time that you’re coming. However, if you decide last minute that’s great, too. Raising as much money as possible is obviously the goal.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me.
Mickey Glick
Body & Soul Fitness Studio
618 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster
(717) 509-7777

Plenty of free parking

All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where no child is ever turned away due to parental inability to pay and no family is billed for services not paid by insurance.

Our friends at the non-profit Chester County Children’s Inc
have a great way here that everyone can help children in need in Chester county without really going out of their way. Check this out:

The Winner’s Circle Restaurant is a sports bar with very good bar food. Riverstone is a more upscale Oyster and Martini bar/restaurant with many items to choose from. Hopefully, this will be a nice way to get additional donations to Chester County’s Children Inc. in 2012. Remember that Chester County’s Children, Inc is an advocate for children in need in Chester County. We try to send underprivileged children to camps, as well as keep children out of foster care and with their families. Any support would be appreciated. Any questions, please feel free to contact Ken Klein kklein@DNBFirst.com

Fitness professionals, if you’re looking for a way to give back using your skills, we do workouts, charge about 10 bucks and give it all to charities. on 1/21/12 we’re doing one for The Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation. We’re all joining together to make one big donation, working to raise awareness for a great cause while getting people in shape. Let me know if you want in. We’ll get you a p…age on the website, you’ll have to work to get some people to your workout, contact The charity (JDRF) in your area, and give an awesome workout. We’ve been doing these workouts for 4 years under the name boot camps with a purpose, are now a 501c3, and are working to find others who want to join us and build this thing. Join us, do a couple workouts a year. Just a couple hours a year. Be a part of something bigger than any of us alone. Work TOGETHER. Make a change for the better.

Why do I push so hard at something (bcwap)? Because I know there’s lots of us going through hell. I know there’s people getting out of jail fighting to reclaim their lives, in deep depression fighting to get out, overweight, thinking they can’t make it (I was fat at one time too). I feel you. I push for you. I pray for you. I hurt for you.

BCWAP and my business that pays the bills, Elite, they’re going to the top. One big reason, I have a chip on my shoulder the size of the liberty bell to prove so many people wrong that I’d always be lost. It’s for everyone out there that gets put down like I do still because of my past (and sometimes current) screw ups. It’s to prove to all those people saying to anyone they’ll never amount to anything. I want all out there hurting, all out there thinking they can’t get out, those of you not seeing anend in sight…this one’s for you.

Keep fighting. You are my inspiration. Your strength, stories, and survival is needed. You are important. Never forget that, and never, ever, ever give up. Especially on you.

-matt sgro

Where your donation goes

Technology: Servers, bandwidth, maintenance, development. Wikipedia is the #5 website in the world, and it runs on a fraction of what other top websites spend.

People: The other top 10 websites have thousands of employees. We have fewer than 100 employees, making your donation a great investment in a highly-efficient not-for-profit organization.

Google might have close to a million servers. Yahoo has something like 13,000 staff. We have 400 servers and 95 staff.

Wikipedia is the #5 site on the web and serves 454 million different people every month – with billions of page views.

Commerce is fine. Advertising is not evil. But it doesn’t belong here. Not in Wikipedia.

Wikipedia is something special. It is like a library or a public park. It is like a temple for the mind. It is a place we can all go to think, to learn, to share our knowledge with others.

When I founded Wikipedia, I could have made it into a for-profit company with advertising banners, but I decided to do something different. We’ve worked hard over the years to keep it lean and tight. We fulfill our mission, and leave waste to others.

If everyone reading this donated $20, we would only have to fundraise for one day a year. But not everyone can or will donate. And that’s fine. Each year just enough people decide to give.

This year, please consider making a donation of $5, $20, $50 or whatever you can to protect and sustain Wikipedia.

Thanks,
